LAST WEEK, THERE WAS A BIT OF controversy as The Crimson announced, just in time for Valentine's Day, that Harvard had approved an undergraduate porn magazine. We get an ice rink, they get porn. Harvard quickly backtracked after the mainstream media firestorm made them realize maybe this wasn't a good idea.

Dear Amanda, Conflicts with his roommate recently resulted in my boyfriend moving in with me for the rest of the semester. We've only been together for a short time, but even though we probably wouldn't have decided to live together outside of the current situation, it's not a problem in terms of too-much-commitment.

THIS WEEK HARVARD LAW School says goodbye to Suzanne Richardson as Dean of Students, a truly remarkable individual who has done wonders for the Law School community in bridging the ever-present, but never necessary, gap that sometimes develops between students and administrators and which can lead to feelings of alienation among the former and feelings of being out of touch with the community among the latter.

Fenno raced into the Record office, her most recent widely-read masterpiece in her hands, ready to be published. It was due three hours before, but she knew from experience they would stop the presses and await the golden, glistening Fenno column. Except one time when it was a bit too glistening and the publisher had refused to touch it.

THE RECENT SELECTION OF O. Grace Bankole as a 2004 Soros Justice Advocacy Fellow is only the most recent example of a growing and influential public interest presence at Harvard Law School. There are real opportunities available for students who wish to forego or just postpone working at a law firm in order to fulfill a life-long passion, or maybe a recently acquired desire to work in the public interest sector.

For those who like sidling up to the steam table for moist, oily lumps of Chinese, Indian or similar deliciousness, the instant gratification of the buffet is not without peril. Loading every possible item onto your first plate leaves you sadly nibbling on massive amounts of some cold and soggy thing you never should have taken, making the trip for a second plate that much further away.

Glancing across the best releases of the last year, you see a lot of smart albums, a lot of thoughtful albums, a lot of beautifully crafted albums, and even the occasional funky or soulful album. What you don't see nearly enough of, however, are truly inspired RAWK albums - loud, violent, crashing things that tear you out of your seat by the throat, make you fiercely throw your devil-horn metal finger-gesture (you know what I mean) up in the air, and bang your head and twirl your hair until you've nearly turned blue.
