Sunday Morning Brunch
After a long night of bar-hopping and alcohol consumption, it's quote possible that you'll wake up beside someone on a Sunday morning and end up taking that person to brunch. Food Editor ALEX SUNDSTROM has a few suggestions based on how the night went.

FENNO: Trust in OCS
Fenno turned as she squeezed though the front door of the Charles Hotel, so her $3,000 suit wouldn't touch a single particle of her environment. OCS had encouraged the suit as an "investment," but Fenno didn't feel as though she would be reaping a huge return on her threadbare Chanel in three years; in fact, she felt that at a student income of approximately zero, this suit actually represented a statistically impossible percentage of her net worth.

Rock-tober Concert Calendar
I've got to admit that I'm one of many HLS students who makes a hobby, nay, an absolute sport, out of bitching about Boston. If it's not one thing it's another with me really - it's either cold and gray and so desolately bitter I'm griping about the weather or it's sunny and nice and picturesque and I'm complaining about the way people drive on Mass Ave.

Whisked away to Europe
For a place serving the country food of Provence, Sel de la Terre projects a lot of angst about its identity. One waiter will affect a thick French accent for the first half hour or so of the meal, then forget and lapse into a bland American inflection. Some manager or other is always wandering around sheepishly mumbling "Bon appetit!" at the customers.

Anything Else…
Woody Allen gets a pretty bad rap these days. His critics, many of them former fans, grumble that he's lost his touch; that his once-impeccable ear for dialogue has turned to tin; that he's become more bitter but less funny in his old age. Many squirm at the sight of an increasingly shriveled Woody canoodling onscreen with the Hollywood belle du jour.

THE VERDICT: In re Comic Book Stores
(Said like the intro to "Law and Order"): In the Cambridge review system, HLS students are represented by one arrogant and all-important panel: a pretentious Chief Justice who has written too many books and two associate justices who are vying for her job.

RECORD EDITORIAL: Inaction speaks louder than words
It's that time of year again. Almost every year in recent memory, The Record has run an article or two criticizing the gender disparity on the Harvard Law Review. The format is pretty standard: An investigative report detailing the problem and trying to get some answers, or at least a coherent opinion, on how it's being solved. This year one thing is clear: the Law Review is not competent to solve its own gender disparity problem.

It’s an (American) Constitution we’re expounding
Demanding that Robert Bork write another book is a bit presumptuous. It falls somewhere between telling Moses, Gosh, that first round of books was good, but what have you done for me lately?, and asking Fitzgerald, When can we expect Son of Gatsby to hit the shelves? When you consider that Bork has penned not only The Tempting of America: The Political Seduction of the Law, but also Slouching Towards Gomorrah, such demand is even less appropriate.

Curse this, Bambino!
"This is the year!" The familiar refrain of Red Sox Nation resounds again from (Beacon) Hill to (Boston) Harbor, followed closely by snickers from the rest of the country. But the Sox have the best team they've had in at least ten years, with some of the best offensive numbers of any team ever, fearsome starting pitching and (to be fair) a bullpen that does its best to offset those advantages.

Danny Glover brings activist message to HLS
Danny Glover spoke to a captivated audience on September 10 at the year's first Saturday School Event. Glover recounted how lawyers are at the forefront of civil rights, anti-war and women's rights movements and how they have historically provided services to those in greatest need of protecting.
