Fenno
Fenno was walking down Mass. Ave, wallowing in her own glory. Fenno's time had finally come. Fenno was no longer the lost 1L, nor the confused and gullible 2L. Fenno had finally become that jaded 3L with the pocketful of Job Offers that all the underclassmen hated, but wanted to have anyway.

Ogletree admits to plagiarism
Professor Charles Ogletree has come under a flurry of criticism over an incident of plagiarism contained in his book, "All Deliberate Speed". The plagiarized text at issue is from Professor Jack Balkin's book, "What Brown v. Board of Education Should Have Said" (NYU Press, 2001) and covers the span of six paragraphs.

Dean Renovates Hark, Creating Improved Façade for Student Center
Harkness Commons, Harvard's student center and cafeteria, was completely renovated during the summer, upgrading the building's interior and façade with additional furniture, increased lighting and more space. The $12 million brainchild of Dean Kagan represents a step in her continuing goal of enhancing student life.

Poem: Raiders of the lost hark
I. Not that the renovations failed beauty, not that the plush lounge area that headily plunges toward sophistication cannot be a source of newfound pride, not that the glass-paneled doors do not have a livelier pull than the spring before.... Inside the cocoon of the Harkness, summer rendered its metamorphosis through and through.

Clerkships: the nine master types
1. Perkship. A perkship is what every clerk hopes for: a judge with a penchant for eating in nice restaurants, membership in an exclusive country club, and the desire to make a new friend. "You can use my yacht if you like," says the judge. And then you know you've landed in a perkship of the highest order.

Student Life Counseling Closes Doors
The renovation of Harkness Commons and the continued provision of morning coffee have been cause for smiles and celebration on the Harvard Law campus this fall, but there is some debate over whether other changes in the school have been so positive. This past July, the Office of Student Life Counseling at HLS shut its doors permanently, relegating its responsibilities to other offices around campus.

NCAAtrocious
Somewhere, atop his high horse, NCAA President Myles Brand smiles smugly, raising a glass of overpriced brandy to toast his recent victory over the little guy and football fans everywhere. When the Brand era began, many believed we might see a kinder, gentler - dare I say more standardized - NCAA.

Undue diligence
During my time here at HLS I've heard all sorts of rumors and Cantabrigian legends concerning this institution, the buildings, the professors, and, of course, the students. Most of these stories would be relatively easy to confirm or debunk, but instead they are passed on from 3L to 2L to 1L, year after year, and no one ever coordinates to figure out the whole story.

Hi, my name is _________.
Hi, my name is _________ and I am a stereotypical __________. What is it about law school that encourages the development of caricatures? It seems sometimes that each one of us was assigned a role upon our arrival here, and we are expected to behave in a manner befitting that role.

‘Tis the season
It's that time of year. It's interview season, and it worries me. The most prestigious firms are coming to campus to recruit the best and brightest, and somehow I'm supposed to land a job in this mess. I recently uploaded my resume to the OCI website, which didn't help matters.

Dan Rather and the elite quarantine
I don't know the details of what happened between Professor Ogletree and his ill-fated book. Since everyone should have heard the story by now, it suffices to say that the justly famed scholar's latest work contained some inadvertent plagiarisms. Ultimately, Professor Ogletree has both apologized and taken substantial steps to fix the problem.
